  Javier's is ok but not great.  Many people around here rav about it but I've never been especially impressed.  They have a quesadilla that I really like but it's the only thing I ever order.  Everything else I've tried has been ok but nothing to get excited about.  
  
  I prefer Garcia's in Layton for Mexican.  It's not authentic but they have an interesting variety and there are a few things on their menu that I really love.  Shrimp Fundido, Shrimp Ajo Grill and the Tampico Stuffed Chicken are really delicious if not authentic.

  My family ate here tonight and we will most definitely never go back. I would never recommend this place and would highly deter all my family and friends. It was by far the worst service I've ever experienced at a restaurant.
  There were 2 woman working the front who seemed to enjoy chatting with each other more than working.
  Completely ignoring customers as they walk in, not checking in on tables, not taking orders...it was very frustrating.
  When we walked in neither acknowledged us and with it being our first time we werent sure if we ordered up front, at the table, sat ourselves or waited to be seated...so we sat ourselves and waited. After a while our waitress brought over cups, stack of silverware, stack of menus, and a pitcher of water, but didnt say a word to us. Just dropped them all at our table,  not at each spot, and just left. Later she brought chips and salsa and seemed very annoyed/agitated. I made sure to be polite and say thank you, thinking maybe she was having a bad day. It happens, being kind can go along way, but not here. Hahaha
  
  She didnt refill chips or salsa until we flagged her down and asked. She seemed very put out by our asking and her frustration was VERY visible upon our asking. She rolls her eyes, clearly agitated and rude. When she refilled the chips and salsa afternour asking she only refilled half the table even though the whole table needed it. Quite honestly, at this point I became very annoyed but stayed polite.
  
  She came over and took our food orders, then left. All was okay-ish. She never took our drink order so I assumed the cups she left on the table were for the soda dispenser, WARNING to the wise, they are not!  Juat after filling my small red cup and returning it to the table she yelled from the front desk that it was water only. Well F me ...how am I suppose to know that? Maybe you should ask a table for their drink order, but my apologies. She then came over and asked 2 people out of our group of 8 what they wanted to drink, after the first 2 answered she just walked away mid order leaving us all baffled. She didnt even ask the rest of our table or listen to anyone else. The 2/8 people got their drinks and the rest of us decided we just wanted to leave. She was so rude it was ridiculous. Her attitude was the absolutle worst and I'm annoyed my mother raised me with such manners. I really wanted to tell her how shitty her service was..but did not.  
  Our table decided to just quietly finish our meal and leave as fast as possible and never return. She absolutely deserved the tip she got from our table and it still saddens me because weve never tipped someone so little.
  Just do yourself a favor and spend your money on a place with better food and better environment.

  The Layton staff is horrible. There's one lady (I use that term loosely) and she acts as if she's put out to wait on you, rolls her eyes, and stares you down while you're eating. I haven't been there in a few years because, honestly there's better places I'd rather eat at. But my review is all about the lack of the employees " give a shit". I witnessed a young man walk in off the streets, go into the kitchen, make himself something and leave w a container. HONESTLY, won't ever go here again. I don't need to get sick. CLOSE THE HOLE DOWN.

  This is without a doubt the worst Mexican food I've ever had in my entire life. Please beware. Stay as far away as possible.

  Not as authentic as promised.  Fish tacos are more like McDonald's fish sandwich chopped up and out into a tortilla. Carne Assad was ok.  Rice came out as yellow and didn't match others rice in the restaurant.  No queso, was told it wasn't authentic Mexican.  Water pitcher had a marinara taste to it.  Good thing i don't live here because i won't be coming back.
